R3GROUP celebrated its M36 Review Meeting in Velenje, Slovenia, hosted by Gorenje Orodjarna — the toolmaking division of one of Europe’s leading home appliance manufacturers, with over 70 years of history in the sector.

The two-day meeting brought the full consortium together to review project progress and results ahead of the final project phase. The highlight of the visit was a live demonstration and guided tour of Gorenje’s pilot line, where participants could see R3GROUP’s technology integrated into a real industrial environment.

Gorenje’s use case sits at the heart of what R3GROUP was designed to address. Household appliances are fashion-driven products, subject to frequent design changes that can trigger significant disruptions on the production line — from tooling redesign to days of downtime. Through the integration of Gorenje’s production line into R3GROUP’s digital thread and platform, the project targets a 10% reduction in downtime when new designs are introduced, a 10% reduction in reconfiguration time, and a 10% increase in facility availability through tooling digitalisation and monitoring.
Seeing these results validated on-site, at M36, marks a key milestone for the project as it moves towards its final deliverables and exploitation phase.

Thank you to the Gorenje team for the warm welcome and for opening their facilities to the consortium.
